As the Abuja DSO rollout draws near, the National Broadcasting Commission, in partnership with Inview Nigeria LTD, organized a one-day training on Electronic Programmed Guide (EPG) for all channel owners in FCT.
The training, which took place at the Commission’s Headquarters on the 7th December, 2016, was aimed at equipping the personnel’s directly involved with the daily scheduling, programming and EPG management for their stations, on the collection, imputing and accuracy of all EPG metadata of programmed, as well as building up the participants overall understanding of this important area of services to their channel and also to emphasize its importance to the overall DSO project.
The Director General, NBC, Mall. Is’haq Modibbo Kawu while welcoming the participants expressed his delight at the high level of turn out as it showed that both parties are working together towards a successful DSO rollout.
He also informed the participants that the Commission is fully committed to the DSO process, urging them to take this phase of transition seriously.
Mrs. Franca Ayetan, the Zonal Director, Abuja, speaking on what is expected of the channel owners, pointed that all provision of the NBC Code must be adhered to in order to avoid sanctions or revocation of licenses.
She also stated that NBC supports Nollywood and the Music industry and implored them to get a copy of the NBC Code, which would guide their programming and operation.
