Let me state that the Nigerian Labour Party’s social democratic platform is the closest to my idea of what should be employed in the struggle for deepening democracy and building a decent livelihood for the Nigerian people. I have always hoped for the building and strengthening of that party as an alternative to the ruling class parties that really are nothing more than platforms of access to power to loot the country blind. But I was surprised at the emergence of the fake doctor Nnamdi ‘Andy’ Uba as the candidate of the party for the 2010 election in Anambra.

‘Andy’ Uba as candidate of the Labour Party? Amazing! They don’t just go together and the excuses given for his emergence by the leadership have been very opportunistic. Uba does not have anything in common with the struggles of the Nigerian working people and God forbids that the clown emerges governor, what he will do is cross over into the PDP. A Labour Party must be built on class principles not the opportunism of bourgeois parties as our Labour Party has done with Nnamdi ‘Andy’ Uba’s candidacy.
