THE Nobel Laureate would normally have been on the front pages of the Southern newspapers, IF the Baga massacre had taken place in the “wrong side” of the country: somewhere in Southern Nigeria.
But as it is, Baga (thankfully!) is in the North! Three weeks after, despite the nationwide condemnation and the worldwide revulsion, Wole Soyinka has not found his voice yet to say a thing. Not that he is not commenting on issues; no.
He has lent his considerable weight against executive lawlessness in the unfolding events in Rivers state. But Baga is too far away to bother Soyinka!
